Formed in February 2010 by volunteers from the Kranj area, it works to help animals in the Kranj municipality, surrounding municipalities and, when able, elsewhere in Slovenia. Its activities include promoting responsible animal ownership, advising animal keepers and owners, cooperating with animal shelters, training members in animal welfare, and reporting irregularities and illegal conduct related to animal protection. The association also promotes sterilisation and castration, runs adoption efforts for shelter animals, and raises funds through volunteer-made products, calendars and monthly auctions.
