The Deutsch-Ukrainische Gesellschaft für Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft e.V. (DUG-WW) is a registered association based in Mainz, Germany, founded to strengthen economic, scientific and societal ties between Germany and Ukraine. It supports exchange of experience on economic and scientific conditions, promotes contacts between businesses, researchers, students and politicians through events, and cooperates with chambers, associations, universities and economic development bodies. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the association has focused on humanitarian aid. It organises and funds aid transports of medicines, hygiene articles, clothing, generators and food to hospitals, children's homes and other institutions in Ukraine, including cities such as Lviv, Winnyzja, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia. It also runs the Kulturgutschutz (cultural heritage protection) network, which supplies cultural institutions in Ukraine, and organises benefit concerts with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. Its work for Ukrainian refugees in Germany includes integration support, children's art therapy, a scholarship and internship scheme, and learning and test-preparation offers. The association also advocates publicly for military and political support to Ukraine and for an international special tribunal on the crime of aggression. It is recognised as charitable by the Finanzamt Mainz-Mitte, and donations are tax-deductible.
