About

Founded in 1998, dZi Foundation is a non-governmental organisation based in Ridgway, United States working on community development, health, education +2 more.

The dZi Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 1998 by mountaineers Jim Nowak and Kim Reynolds. It partners with rural communities in eastern Nepal, in the Solukhumbu, Bhojpur and Khotang districts, to build shared prosperity through health, education, livelihoods, water and infrastructure programmes. Its community-led Deep Development model has it support village-defined visions and build local capacity so communities can continue the work after dZi leaves. The organisation serves over 45,000 people across a network of 13 villages. It has offices in the United States, the United Kingdom and Nepal, with the Nepal office handling implementation and the US office overseeing fundraising and finances. dZi states that it undergoes community-led public audits in Nepal, an independent audit of its Nepal office, and an annual financial audit in the United States.
