About

EarthPercent is a charity based in London, United Kingdom working on environment & climate, nature & wildlife conservation.

EarthPercent is the music industry's climate and nature foundation. It is an environmental charity registered in England and Wales, and it has a U.S. nonprofit affiliate. EarthPercent encourages artists, labels, festivals, agents, promoters and other music businesses to pledge a share of their income, including from live, recording, songwriting and publishing, merchandise and brand sponsorship. It pools these donations into a Grant Giving Fund. Grants are vetted by Expert Advisory Panels of scientists, researchers, economists, youth activists and policymakers, and go to grassroots and systemic climate and nature organisations, mainly in the UK and internationally. Funded areas include deep-sea mining, Indigenous-led forest protection, regenerative ocean farming, wetland restoration, the just transition away from fossil fuels, and youth climate justice. EarthPercent also runs initiatives such as The Earth As Your Co-Writer, which credits the planet as a songwriter, and campaigns such as the Earth Day compilations. Co-founded by Brian Eno.
