EinDollarBrille e.V. is a registered non-profit association founded in 2012 in Erlangen, Germany. It works under the GoodVision name to provide basic eye care, including eye tests, affordable high-quality glasses, eye operations referrals, and training of local optical specialists, to people in the Global South. Its OneDollarGlasses use spring steel frames with material costs of around one US dollar, and a bending machine that can produce glasses without electricity. Work is carried out through national and programme country organisations in Asia, Africa and South America, which are working towards a shared international umbrella organisation. The association also runs awareness campaigns, school programmes and international networking, and creates local jobs, including for people with disabilities. Its accounts follow DZI guidelines and are externally audited.
