FED, the Foundation for Education and Development, is a non-profit organisation registered in Thailand. Its main office is in Khao Lak, Phang Nga province, southern Thailand, with a further office in Mae Sot and offices in Kawthaung, Yangon and Loikaw in Myanmar. FED works with Burmese migrants in Thailand and with communities in Myanmar. Its work covers education for migrant children, including migrant learning centres and support for enrolment in Thai government schools; health education, primary care access and emergency support, delivered partly through a network of Community Health Volunteers; and safe migration, legal aid and human rights protection. In Myanmar it runs programmes on safe migration, peacebuilding, youth education and human rights. Its programmes are funded through donations and grants.
