About

Founded in 2017, FemPlatz is a non-profit association based in Serbia working on gender equality, human rights, employment & skills.

FemPlatz is a Serbian women's rights association founded in September 2017. It works to advance the rights of women and girls, protect them from discrimination and violence, strengthen their economic position and labour rights, and increase their participation in society and decision-making, with a particular focus on women and girls facing multiple discrimination. Its work combines research, advocacy for changes to laws and public policies at national and international level, and public awareness activities. Its known initiatives include the Feminizazov social hackathon on safety for women in public spaces, an interactive femicide map covering Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia, and advocacy for a femicide monitoring body and for criminalising femicide in Serbia. FemPlatz runs its activities mainly in Serbia and in the wider Western Balkans region, and is a co-organiser of Feminizazov together with SINHRO.
