Festival de Poupet

Founded in 1987, Festival de Poupet is a non-profit association based in Saint Malo du Bois, France working on arts & culture, environment & climate, community development.

The Festival de Poupet is an outdoor music festival run by a non-profit association under the French 1901 law, held at the Théâtre de Verdure in Poupet (Saint-Malo-du-Bois) and at the Clairière du Bois Chabot (Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre) in the Vendée region of France. Founded in 1987 as a village fête, it presents concerts by French and international artists over several dates each July, with a mix of popular, rap, chanson and theatre programming. The festival is staffed mainly by around 1,000 volunteers, supported by four paid employees. Beyond the concerts, the association runs cultural outreach through Les Envolées, which brings performances and workshops to young people and care-home residents, and a volunteer-led waste-reduction programme. It also operates regional shuttle bus lines to 13 towns and promotes carpooling. Its environmental and prevention work includes biowaste collection, single-use plastic reduction and awareness campaigns against sexist and sexual violence.
