Festival kulture Slovo Gorčina

Founded in 2012, Festival kulture Slovo Gorčina is a non-profit association based in Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina working on arts & culture, heritage.

Slovo Gorčina is an association of citizens based in Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which organises the Slovo Gorčina Festival of Culture. The festival has been held since 1971 in honour of the poet Mak Dizdar, who was born in Stolac. It brings together literature, music, visual art, film and other media, with readings, book promotions, exhibitions, concerts and workshops, including programmes for children and young people. The association was founded in 2012 to run the festival and to promote Mak Dizdar's work and the cultural and historical heritage of the Stolac area and Bosnia and Herzegovina more broadly. It also awards the Mak Dizdar literary prize for unpublished poetry collections by young authors. The festival is funded through government ministries, public bodies, corporate sponsors and individual donations.
