Firefly Mission is a Singapore-based, volunteer-run humanitarian society, registered as a non-profit under the Societies Act in 2005. It began as a sub-committee of the Buddhist Fellowship Singapore and runs humanitarian missions in several neighbouring countries. Its work includes building schools and clinics, sponsorship schemes for school children, support for orphanages and monastics, and disaster relief and rehabilitation. The organisation has no paid staff or office premises, and its members fund their own overseas travel. Its activities are guided by Buddhist principles of compassion, generosity and wisdom, and it serves disadvantaged people regardless of race, language or religion.
