FoRS

Founded in 2002, FoRS is a non-profit network based in Praha 1, Czech Republic working on international development, humanitarian aid & disaster relief, education.

FoRS is the Czech Development Cooperation Forum, a platform of Czech non-governmental non-profit organisations and other non-profit bodies working in development cooperation, global development education and humanitarian aid. Founded in 2002, it brings together around 35 to 37 member and observer organisations (the source gives both figures). FoRS works to increase the relevance and effectiveness of Czech and international development cooperation and to improve the positive impact on people in developing and transforming countries. Its activities include working groups, policy positions, advocacy towards government and EU institutions, publishing press releases and analyses, capacity building, subgrants, seminars, campaigns and training. It is a founding member of CONCORD, the European confederation of NGOs for humanitarian aid and development, and a long-standing member of Forus International. Its governing bodies are a General Assembly, a Board and an Audit Commission, with a secretariat based in Prague.
