Foto Terapija

Founded in 2012, Foto Terapija is a non-profit organisation based in Celje, Slovenia working on mental health, disability, children & youth +2 more.

Foto Terapija is the Zavod za fotografsko terapijo, a Slovenian institute that develops and delivers photography therapy as a creative technique for people with special needs, mental health difficulties and disabilities. Its work includes individual and group photography therapy, workshops and lectures for institutions and organisations, advice on adapted camera equipment, and training in photography therapy. It runs programmes in schools, rehabilitation centres and psychiatric settings in Slovenia, and has taken part in EU-funded media literacy projects for early childhood education. The approach combines technical camera skills, composition and photographic expression with reflective conversation, aiming to strengthen self-image, social inclusion and quality of life.
