About

Founded in 2005, Fundación CMR is a grant-making foundation based in Ciudad de México, Mexico working on poverty & hunger, health, children & youth.

Fundación CMR is a Mexican non-profit foundation founded in 2005 that works to combat child malnutrition and reduce food insecurity in Mexico, guided by values of love, responsibility and empathy. It focuses on children aged 0 to 6 and on anemia and malnutrition. Rather than running its own programmes, it invests in and supports long-term projects run by experienced civil society organisations, through economic and in-kind support, training and capacity building, and funding for expert advice. It also selects projects through an annual call linked to World Food Day (16 October), which chooses four or five new projects each year. Its work is funded through donations, sponsorship of children (Proyecto Padrino), corporate partnerships and fundraising events and products sold through partner restaurants. The foundation reports on results through annual reports, semester scorecard evaluations and bimonthly newsletters to donors. It states that its work reaches children in rural, indigenous and marginalised urban communities across many Mexican states, including Chiapas, Sinaloa, Estado de México, Mexico City, Hidalgo, Chihuahua, Yucatán, Veracruz, Sonora and Oaxaca. It reports that in 2022 it supported around 13,138 children daily, and that over 18 years it raised more than 295 million pesos for child nutrition, supporting around 132,000 children through 34 organisations in 21 states.
