It turns discarded materials such as tarpaulins, fire hoses, office chairs and industrial leftovers into furniture, lamps, bags, jewellery and fashion through upcycling design, made by hand in its own workshops. The organisation employs people who face barriers in the labour market, including people with chronic or mental illnesses, people with addiction histories, people with a migration or refugee background, long-term unemployed people and young people with difficult pasts. It provides job placements, a five-stage qualification programme certified by an external consultancy, apprenticeships, career orientation, job search support and psychosocial support. Its work is co-financed by public employment and social bodies in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, and a large part of its funding comes from product sales. The organisation is a recognised donation-deductible institution in Austria and offers sponsorship of employment places, volunteering and corporate cooperation. Its stores are located in Vienna, St. Pölten and Neusiedl am See.
