Génération 22
France
About
Founded in 1997, Génération 22 is a non-profit association based in France working on health, medical research.
Génération 22 is a national association founded in 1997 by families affected by 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, with support from Orphanet and medical specialists. It represents affected families, provides peer support through regional support groups, a social worker for complex situations and an online yoga class, and offers information on health, schooling, employment and care pathways. It also organises regional information meetings with rare disease reference centres, a biennial national congress, awareness activities for health professionals, and participates in research. The association is funded by membership fees and donations rather than public subsidies, and is run by volunteers in France.
