GetUp is an independent, not-for-profit Australian campaigning movement with more than one million members. It campaigns on social justice, economic fairness, environmental sustainability, human rights and democratic integrity, including climate action, asylum seeker and refugee rights, mental health funding, protection of the Great Barrier Reef, and electoral participation. Members set campaign priorities and take action through petitions, lobbying of decision makers, local action groups, and public advocacy. GetUp is funded by individual donations and does not accept money from political parties or government, and it does not endorse or support candidates in elections. Its work is focused mainly on Australia, with some international engagement through a global progressive network.
