GiveDirectly is a charity based in New York, United States working on poverty & hunger, international development.

GiveDirectly is a non-profit that sends unconditional cash transfers directly to people living in extreme poverty, delivered mainly via mobile money. It has operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda and the United States, and says it has delivered over 1 billion in cash to around 2 million people since 2009. Its approach is guided by impact research: recipients are chosen within pre-assessed areas using criteria that vary by country, and funds are given with no conditions, so recipients decide how to use them. The organisation also conducts and publishes research on cash transfers, including studies on infant mortality, basic income and the economic effects of cash aid, and advocates for a larger share of humanitarian aid to be given as cash. It is funded by individual donors, foundations, businesses and institutions, and runs a US programme alongside its African operations.
