About
Founded in 2012, Global Mobility USA is a non-governmental organisation based in North Hollywood, United States working on disability, humanitarian aid & disaster relief.
Global Mobility USA is a non-profit humanitarian organisation founded in 2012 by David Richard. It provides wheelchairs and other mobility aids to persons with disabilities, mainly in low-income countries, and also supports people in need within the United States. Its in-country seating clinics are led by volunteer physical therapists, occupational therapists and trained seating technicians, aiming to meet internationally recognised CRPD standards, and include training for recipients' support groups in the use and care of wheelchairs. The organisation manufactures low-cost, durable wheelchairs suited to difficult terrain, including standard, complex rehab, active, sports and recliner models for children, teens and adults. It works with local partners overseas and domestically, and states that it serves people regardless of political affiliation, religion or ethnicity. Its founder previously established Wheels for Humanity in 1996, which the organisation says seated over 65,000 people in more than 70 countries.
