Hamburgische Landesstelle für Suchtfragen

Founded in 1949, Hamburgische Landesstelle für Suchtfragen is a non-profit network based in Hamburg, Germany working on addiction.

The Hamburgische Landesstelle für Suchtfragen e.V. (HLS) is the umbrella organisation for addiction support, addiction self-help and addiction prevention services in Hamburg, Germany. It brings together member organisations, currently cited as 38 organisations in one place and more than 40 in another, and provides a platform for professional exchange, networking and moderation of differing interests. Its work includes coordinating specialist forums and working groups, representing the shared positions of addiction services to politicians, administration and the public, running public information and awareness activities, and organising the annual Aktionswoche Alkohol. The HLS also supports the development of addiction care in Hamburg through cooperation, projects and events, and operates in the context of the Hamburg Social Authority's funding framework. It is a member of the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Landesstellen für Suchtfragen and works closely with the Deutsche Hauptstelle für Suchtfragen. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Sucht.Hamburg gGmbH, runs operational services.
