About
Founded in 2009, Harold Robinson Foundation is a charity based in Beverly Hills, United States working on children & youth, education, community development +1 more.
The Harold Robinson Foundation is a US charity founded in 2009 to improve the lives of young people in South Los Angeles. It grew out of a private scholarship fund that sent children from disinvested communities to summer camp. The foundation runs residential retreats at a camp facility in the Angeles National Forest for school groups, plus a free six-week summer programme in Watts. Its programmes draw on social-emotional learning and cover outdoor education, leadership, mentoring, arts, dance, writing, yoga and community gardening. Work is delivered through partnerships with schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District and community organisations, with the aim of reducing barriers linked to poverty, gang activity and the school-to-prison pipeline. The foundation is funded mainly through peer-to-peer and community fundraising events and in-kind donations, and it also offered virtual and at-home programming during the COVID-19 pandemic.
