About

The Heřmanský Foundation for Haematological Oncology is a Czech foundation established in 1995 at the First Internal Clinic of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague. It supports haematology and haematological oncology through funding of research projects, equipment and patient care improvements, support for patient organisations, international cooperation and training of doctors and nurses, and the education of young doctors and scientists. It organises an annual Heřmanský Lecture, which honours leading specialists, and an annual charity theatre performance. The foundation is named after Professor František Heřmanský, a Czech haematologist who led the First Internal Clinic in Prague from 1968 to 1980. Its board and supervisory board were newly elected in 2024.
