Founded in 2019, HUB Ocean is a foundation based in Lysaker, Norway working on environment & climate, nature & wildlife conservation, science & research.

HUB Ocean is an independent, non-profit, non-compete foundation headquartered in Oslo, Norway. It was founded in 2019 by the Aker Group and the World Economic Forum to make ocean data open, accessible and actionable for researchers, governments, NGOs and industry worldwide. Its flagship product, the Ocean Data Platform, lets users discover, share, analyse and publish ocean datasets, including oceanographic, biogeochemical, biodiversity, seafloor and human-activity data. The foundation works with governments, scientists, NGOs and industry partners to support the protection of 30% of the ocean by 2030 and the UN Ocean Decade of Ocean Science. Its platform datasets are free to access, with some premium compute and storage services available.
