About

Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) is an independent, international not-for-profit human rights organisation registered in Norway and founded in 1992. It establishes and supports Human Rights Houses, coalitions of local independent civil society organisations working to advance human rights at home and abroad. It advocates at UN, OSCE, Council of Europe and other international level on civic space, freedom of expression, association and assembly, and accountability, reports on human rights trends, and works to strengthen international human rights mechanisms. Its work includes a focus on Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and Croatia, and it runs projects such as the Solidarity Force course for young defenders and the Belarus. Banned. Books initiative. HRHF is headquartered in Oslo, with an office in Geneva and representation in Brussels. It holds consultative status at the United Nations and participatory status at the Council of Europe, and is a Strategic Framework Partner of the EU Eastern Partnership civil society initiative.
