About

Founded in 1992, Interkulturelles Frauenzentrum SUSI is a non-governmental organisation based in Berlin, Germany working on gender equality, refugees & migration, mental health +3 more.

SUSI is an intercultural women's centre in Berlin, operating since 1992 and rooted in an initiative from 1989 to create a house of international encounter in East Berlin. It works for women with migration, refugee and racism experiences, as well as allies, with a transcultural, decolonial, anti-racist, feminist and intersectional approach. Services include multilingual psychological counselling, social and legal advice (family, social, residence, criminal law and protection from violence), women's groups, dance and movement therapy, workshops, lectures, readings, exhibitions and film screenings. Many of its staff and board members are migrants, and the centre offers services in numerous languages. It runs European exchange projects, including with partners in Poland, Italy and Latin America, and campaigns such as the 8 March campaign. The association's legal entity is Für eine kulturvolle, solidarische Welt e.V., which holds charitable status and is a member of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Berlin. Its work is funded through donations, grants and public and EU project funding.
