IRDES

The Institut de recherche et documentation en économie de la santé (IRDES) is an independent French research institute in health economics. Created in 1985 as a non-profit association under the 1901 law, it became a public interest group (groupement d'intérêt public) in 2015. IRDES conducts applied research and produces data on health insurance, healthcare access, health system organisation, disability and the medico-social sector. Its work includes national surveys such as the Enquête santé et protection sociale, publications including the Questions d'économie de la santé and Rapports series, a monthly newsletter, and podcasts. Its results are aimed at researchers, health and social protection stakeholders and the public, and it works mainly within France with international collaborations.
