JARO Institut

Founded in 2018, JARO Institut is a non-profit association based in Berlin, Germany working on environment & climate, education.

The JARO Institut is a non-profit association (gemeinnütziger Verein) founded on 20 July 2018 and based in Berlin, Germany. It works on knowledge transfer and applied research in sustainable economic practice, with a focus on sustainable procurement, tourism and the influence of digital developments in these areas. Its activities include training and certification programmes, such as the JARO Academy eLearning and the Certified Sustainable Procurement Professional programme, as well as webinars, workshops, publications, keynote talks and a podcast. It also runs a consultancy service for sustainability strategy and implementation through a wholly owned subsidiary, JARO Services GmbH, and works with a certification scheme for responsible procurement organisations developed with the Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik (BME). The institute is governed by a board, a scientific advisory board and a members' assembly, and it invites organisations and individuals to join as members and to support its research through donations.
