JUBITH (Netzwerk für umwelt- und entwicklungspolitische Jugendbildung Thüringen) is a network that offers educational modules and project days on sustainability, climate change, global justice and consumption to young people from 14 years upward in Thuringia, Germany. The network was founded in 2007 by a group of young volunteers and is coordinated by the non-profit association Arbeit und Leben Thüringen, which is carried by the Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund and the Volkshochschulen in Thuringia. Educational modules are mostly delivered by trained student peer teachers and are offered free of charge to educational institutions, with a voluntary contribution toward material and personnel costs. The network works with schools, vocational schools, out-of-school institutions and volunteer services, and draws on experiential methods such as role plays, simulation games and group work. It also trains educators for global sustainable development and is funded in part by Engagement Global and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
