KEZ

Founded in 1999, KEZ is a non-profit organisation based in Chrudim, Czech Republic working on environment & climate, community development.

KEZ o.p.s. is a Czech not-for-profit public benefit company, established in 1999 by the PRO-BIO producers and processors association, the FOA foundation for organic agriculture and the EPOS association of organic farming consultants. It is the first Czech accredited inspection and certification body for organic farming. Under an authorisation from the Ministry of Agriculture, it inspects organic businesses and certifies their products, marking them with the code CZ BIO 001, in line with the Czech Act on organic agriculture and EU Regulation 2018/848. It also runs certification programmes for organic cosmetics (CPK), products suitable for organic farming, and public catering facilities. The organisation works throughout the Czech Republic, serves more than 2,500 agricultural enterprises and processing plants, and holds an inspection and certification body in Slovakia on behalf of the Slovak authority UKZUP. It publishes guidance, seminars and legislative updates for organic operators.
