Kinderhaus Sumbawanga is a children's home in Katusa near Sumbawanga, in west Tanzania, that gives a home, schooling and training to orphaned children. It is run by Marianne Iwanetzki under the care of Caritas & Development and is supported by the Förderverein Kinderhaus Sumbawanga e.V. in Nürnberg, Germany, through private donations. The home is building a small health clinic for the local population, which has no nearby medical care, and runs a farm for self-sufficiency. The children are involved in daily chores and have set goals for their education and careers. The project receives no state or church funding.
