Kinderhilfe für Kolumbien e.V. is a German non-profit association founded in 1985, following a private initiative begun by the Sonntag family in 1979. It supports children and families in low-income neighbourhoods of Colombia through education, daily care, nutrition, housing support and sponsorships. Its main activities are in Popayán, where it runs a house with daycare, after-school groups and a bakery, and in Pasto, where a social worker supports around 40 children. The association is run by volunteers, with no salary, rent or advertising costs, and works with a Colombian team to reach children in the most dangerous areas. It is recognised as charitable (gemeinnützig and mildtätig) and funds itself mainly through donations and sponsorships.
