Kisiwa Art Farm e.V. is a German registered association, founded as a project in 2021 by Lara Ameir, that works on Zanzibar, Tanzania. It runs projects focused on empowering women and children, including a sewing school where women and girls learn tailoring with Kitenge fabric and receive job, English and empowerment coaching, and a program supporting elderly women without a pension through a seaweed soap business. It also operates an art and nature-based childcare centre, the Happy Hearts Nursery School opened in January 2025, menstruation education for schoolchildren, and beach and village clean-up and environmental education. The association works in cooperation with the local Zanzibari NGO BWECODEO, which has been a partner since June 2023. Funding comes from donations, sponsorships for pupils, and income from a creative café, yoga, Zumba and Pilates classes, and product sales. Volunteers support the work on site and in Germany. The association was registered in April 2023 and it is financed through donations and fundraising events such as an annual charity day in Kronau, Germany.
