KVPR

Founded in 1975, KVPR is a non-profit organisation based in Clovis, United States working on arts & culture, community development.

KVPR, operated by Valley Public Radio, is a locally based, listener-supported non-profit public radio station serving Fresno, Bakersfield and surrounding communities in California's San Joaquin Valley. It broadcasts NPR news and talk programming, local news and information, and a 24/7 classical music service (KVPR Classical) on FM 89.3 and FM 89.1 and online through KVPR.org, its app, smart speakers and connected devices. KVPR serves residents of Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Mariposa and Tulare counties, produces award-winning local news coverage, and runs local arts and music programming including a jazz show and a spring showcase of student musicians. The station is funded by local and regional community support, including individual donations, sponsorships, foundation partners, events, legacy gifts and vehicle donations, after federal Corporation for Public Broadcasting funding was eliminated in 2025. It broadcasts from a 10,000 square foot facility in Clovis, California, which opened in 2016. KVPR began broadcasting in October 1978.
