Lenkey-s Bajtársi Egyesület

Founded in 2001, Lenkey-s Bajtársi Egyesület is a non-profit association based in Eger, Hungary working on heritage, community development.

The Lenkey-s Bajtársi Egyesület is a Hungarian veterans' association based in Eger, founded in 2001 by staff and former students of the Lenkey János Honvéd Középiskola és Kollégium. It is an independent, non-party association of the Bajtársi Egyesületek Országos Szervezete (BEOSZ). Its work covers preserving Hungarian military traditions and the memory of General János Lenkey, including the care of his grave in the Kisasszony cemetery, organising commemorations and wreath-laying, and running public history and museum events at the Lenkey house-museum with the Dobó István Vármúzeum. It also searches for and maintains soldiers' graves and memorial sites in the surrounding area, and supports the public understanding of national defence. Members include former students, teachers, serving and retired military personnel, and supporters. The association holds regular general assemblies, provides member services and welfare support, and organises excursions and sports programmes for its members.
