The Lerndorf Klein Wanzleben gGmbH is a non-profit company recognised as charitable by the Finanzamt Magdeburg. It is developing a learning village in Klein Wanzleben, Saxony-Anhalt, that follows children from crèche through kindergarten, after-school care, primary and secondary school to Abitur or vocational qualification, under one provider and on one campus. The project is being prepared as a private school with a planned start on 1 August 2027, with two mixed-age learning groups for school years 1 to 5 and later expansion to Klasse 13 by 2034/35. Its founding shareholders include the Kirchenkreis Egeln, a parish, a community foundation, and local businesses and individuals. The school is planned as a private-sector model that aims to involve parents, local businesses and craft firms, and works with the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg on a ten-year longitudinal study of the concept. Funding is sought through donations, sponsors, fees and grants until the state contributes from the fourth operating year. Donations are tax-deductible, and the organisation is currently in the permit process with the Landesschulamt Sachsen-Anhalt.
