Lichtblickhof

Founded in 2002, Lichtblickhof is a charity based in Wien, Austria working on health, children & youth, animal welfare.

Lichtblickhof is a non-profit children's hospice with animals run by the association e-motion. It provides animal-assisted therapy and palliative and hospice accompaniment for seriously ill and traumatised children, young people and their families. The work takes place at two sites: in Vienna on the grounds of the former Otto Wagner Hospital, and at Steinbach near Wald in Lower Austria. Services use trained therapy horses, dogs, cats and sheep, and the organisation also conducts research on animal-assisted therapy and animal welfare. It is funded almost entirely by donations, sponsorships and legacies.
