LIVE MUSIC NOW Salzburg is a non-profit association based in Salzburg, Austria, founded in 1999 as part of the international Live Music Now network. It supports young talented musicians, mainly students of the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, by giving them paid performance opportunities, and brings live music to people who rarely have access to concerts. Performance venues include retirement and nursing homes, hospitals, facilities for people with disabilities, prisons, refugee accommodation, schools, day-care centres and palliative wards in and around Salzburg, where the organisation runs around 40 venues with up to 70 concerts per year. The association is run by volunteers, and its musician fees are funded through donations, sponsorships, venue sponsorships and annual membership contributions. It holds an annual charity concert and runs open auditions judged by a jury of professors. Donations are tax-deductible in Austria.
