About
Founded in 2001, Louis Leitz Stiftung is a grant-making foundation based in Stuttgart, Germany working on education, employment & skills, refugees & migration +2 more.
The Louis Leitz Stiftung is a grant-making foundation based in Stuttgart, Germany, established in November 2001 by former shareholders and family members of the Stuttgart family business Louis Leitz. It funds multi-year projects, usually over three to six years, that open up education, vocational training and access to employment for people affected by disadvantage, poverty or violence. Around 80% of its annual budget of roughly EUR 100,000 goes to multi-year projects, with smaller one-off grants awarded mainly in the Stuttgart region. Its projects in Germany focus on young people in the transition from school to training and work, including the ANNA for Future and LERNWERKSTATT projects in Stuttgart and Kassel. Abroad, it supports MEDICA Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which works with traumatised women, and a biogas and vocational training project at the Kinderhaus Burkina Faso in Dedougou. The foundation is governed by a volunteer foundation board of up to seven members elected from its 54 founders, and it works with German project partners for overseas projects.
