Meta House is an independent arts and cultural centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, established in 2007 by German filmmaker Nico Mesterharm. It hosts exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, theatre, workshops and DJ events, and provides German language courses through a Goethe-Institut cooperation. Its umbrella organisation, the Cambodian-German Cultural Association (KDKG), is registered as a non-governmental organisation and has its head office in Berlin. Meta House supports Cambodian artists, runs documentary filmmaking training, and takes educational theatre and art projects into schools and communities nationwide, with a focus on social themes such as women's empowerment, LGBTIQ inclusion, substance abuse and post-genocide reconciliation.
