The museum runs artist residencies since 2014, a temporary exhibition hall focused on Patagonian and southern artists, and a contemporary art education library in the Biblioteca Popular in Contralmirante Cordero. Its stated aims are to value the steppe region through cultural production, encourage environmental care, and decentralise culture away from large urban centres.
