Naturfreunde Internationale (NFI) is the international umbrella association of the Naturefriends movement, founded in 1950 in Switzerland and headquartered in Vienna, Austria. It coordinates member organisations worldwide around nature experience, sustainable tourism, environmental and climate protection, human rights, and youth work. Its activities include international exchange meetings among member organisations, support for member projects, public information and education on environmental, development and human rights issues, and advocacy at European and international levels. Through its Climate Fund it supports member organisations in Senegal, Mali and Togo, including fruit tree planting in rural communities. It also runs campaigns such as the Christmas fundraising campaign, Climate Hikes and a photo challenge, and holds an annual conference.
