Naturschutzbund Österreich is a nature conservation association active across Austria, with state groups in all nine federal provinces. It has around 80,000 members and relies on volunteers for habitat care, amphibian protection and species conservation. Its work covers species protection for animals such as the lynx, wildcat, Eurasian beaver and otter, along with advocacy on wolf and otter management, nature education through excursions, webinars and talks, and research projects. It also offers civilian service placements in its Salzburg office and runs the European Green Belt initiative.
