The Naturwissenschaftlicher Verein zu Bremen (NWV) is a non-profit association founded in 1864 in Bremen. It serves scientific purposes and promotes natural history in the Bremen and northwest German region. Its activities include public winter lecture series and excursions, working groups on topics such as fungi, lichens, dragonflies, mammals, herpetofauna and fish, exhibitions, and the scientific journal Abhandlungen. The association cooperates with the University of Bremen, the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, the Übersee-Museum and the Wittheit zu Bremen, and is funded by membership fees and donations.
