NKC gender a věda is the National Contact Centre for Gender and Science, a unit of the Sociological Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. It works to advance gender equality in Czech research and higher education. Its activities include research and publications on gender in science, monitoring reports on the position of women in Czech science, workshops and training for research institutions on gender equality plans, and advice to ministries and public bodies on research policy. It also runs awareness events such as the Milada Paulová Award, the Brunch for early-career women scientists and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science campaigns, and coordinates EU and national projects including GENDERACTIONplus, CZERA and STRATIN. The centre serves Czech research organisations, higher education institutions, public administration and the wider academic community.
