Through its therapy dog section it trains and certifies handler and dog teams for animal-assisted interventions and places them with institutions such as care homes, hospices, schools and rehabilitation facilities in Vienna and Lower Austria. Its Lesehund (reading dog) programme supports children with reading difficulties. The association also offers continuing education for dog teams and accepts donations for its statutory purposes, which are used to cover training costs for teams.
