The Oinoussai Benevolent Fund (OBF, known in Greek as Tameio Efpragias Oinousson, abbreviated TEO) is a London-based charity founded in 1942 by Oinoussians living in London to help compatriots on the Greek island of Oinousses (Oinoussai) in the North-Eastern Aegean Sea. The Fund is a UK-registered charity and is described as the oldest organisation of its kind in the UK. It is funded by voluntary contributions from Oinoussian shipping member offices and by individual donors. Its work supports poor and sick islanders and families, public works and infrastructure such as water reservoirs, ferry services, church and cemetery restoration, and the Naval Academy and Boarding House for merchant mariners. It also supports cultural, educational, athletic and environmental activities on the island, including reforestation after a 2012 fire. Its fundraising includes an annual Oinoussian Ball and vasilopita events in London, and it runs Christmas and festive events for island children. The Fund is governed by an Executive Committee and a Fundraising Committee made up largely of Oinoussians born outside Greece.
