It provides specialist advice on asylum support and benefits, emergency food and small cash help for people facing destitution, and furnished shared housing with casework for newly recognised refugees and families. Its aim is to help people seeking sanctuary move out of poverty and destitution and reach their full potential. The organisation was founded in 2003 out of a church's desire to welcome dispersed asylum seekers and became a separate charity. It works with a team of 19 employees and 40 volunteers and supports over 1,000 people each year.
