PEFC Luxembourg

PEFC Luxembourg is a non-profit association based in Eschdorf, Luxembourg working on environment & climate, nature & wildlife conservation.

PEFC Luxembourg a.s.b.l. is the national member of the PEFC Council, the international Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. It establishes and manages PEFC forest certification in Luxembourg, holds the rights to the PEFC brand and promotes sustainable forest management in the Grand Duchy. Its certification scheme covers forest owners, both private and public, and companies that process or trade wood and other forest products. Forest owners join through a standard for sustainable forest management, and companies through a chain-of-custody certification verified by accredited independent auditors. The organisation also informs consumers and retailers about labelled products, and it offers group certification for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its stated aims are to make certification accessible to all forest owners, to guarantee a credible and ethical system, and to support sylviculture and the use of wood. The organisation was founded in Luxembourg and is based in Eschdorf.
