Pfoten Glücksschmiede

Pfoten Glücksschmiede is a non-profit association based in Obdach, Austria working on animal welfare.

Pfoten Glücksschmiede is an animal welfare association based in Obdach in the Murtal region of Styria, Austria. It runs a shelter station that takes in neglected, abused and sick dogs, many of them considered hopeless cases, and works to rehome them through a structured adoption process. The association also provides emergency rescue and assistance for dogs in distress, including retrieving injured animals, reading microchips, registering found dogs and accompanying owners to vets. It cooperates with animal shelters, foster carers and partner associations in Austria and Hungary, and works with partners in Romania, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. Founded by chairwoman Nadine Haßlwanter, the association is funded through donations, sponsorships and volunteer work, and holds state certification as an animal welfare organisation in Styria. It also holds public events such as the Dog Meet and the Pfoten Advent, and publishes news on rescues and adoptions.
