PGD Hrastnik

Founded in 1887, PGD Hrastnik is a non-profit association based in Hrastnik, Slovenia working on humanitarian aid & disaster relief, children & youth, community development.

PGD Hrastnik is the Prostovoljno gasilsko društvo (Voluntary Fire Department) Hrastnik, a volunteer fire association based in Hrastnik, Slovenia, founded in 1887. It provides fire fighting, rescue and technical emergency intervention for the Hrastnik municipality and surrounding area, working alongside the public fire service and other emergency services. Beyond emergency response, the association runs a youth section for training and social activities of young firefighters, provides fire extinguisher servicing and sales, carries out hydrant inspections, and offers water transport during droughts. It also publishes public notices on weather warnings, fire risk and local incidents. The association is funded in part by individual donations, including SMS donations and the option to allocate a share of income tax, and by the Hrastnik municipality, which has co-financed its vehicles.
