It is registered as a public-benefit (közhasznú) organisation and works to preserve, perform and pass on Hungarian folk dance, folk music, customs and folk art traditions. Its main activity is the Pöndöly Néptáncegyüttes, a folk dance ensemble with junior, beginner, advanced and adult groups. The association also runs training for members and other interested people, camps, performances, cultural events and dance houses, and supports schools and cultural institutions in teaching local traditions. Its activities take place mainly in Hungary, including events in Baranya, Somogy and other counties, and include international festival appearances. Its public-benefit purposes include education, public education, cultural activity, heritage protection and work related to Hungarian national and ethnic minorities and Hungarians beyond the border.
